I went into hospital for Total Knee Replacement on 9th November 2016. I’d already had the idea of doing some kind of photographic documentation of it, and had been looking at the gorgeous old engravings and early anatomical drawings of knees, made long before photography let alone MRIs and X-Rays had been invented. Aren’t these beautiful?
So I found myself stranded in the world of surgery, osteopathic surgery at that, a place I had never been before. It was impossible for a patient to photograph properly, that is, with a SLR camera, lighting and the rest. But this is where the I-Phone comes in. I’ve written a bit more about this on the page “New Projects” and may well come back to it soon.
